SUMMER EXCHANGE

The Next Youth Ambassador Could Be You!

We're looking for current 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students who are interested in participating in a summer exchange with students from Tamba, Japan.  If chosen, you will spend 10 days at the end of July with a Japanese host family and then upon your return, your family will host a member of your Japanese host family.

What does it take to be a youth ambassador?

We're looking for upbeat, positive individuals who aren't afraid to work hard and who always strive to do their best.  You must be in 8th, 9th, or 10th grade and live, attend school in, or have a parent who works in Auburn or Kent to qualify for our program.

We'd love it if you could speak a little Japanese, but we don't require it.  You must have an interest in Japanese culture though.

Youth ambassadors and their families must attend regular monthly meetings (usually the 3rd Monday of each month). We require that all youth ambassadors and their families help organize, plan, and run as well as solicit donations for two consecutive annual fundraising events (This helps pay for airfare and events). We also participate in a few community activities throughout the year as a means to promote our program. Youth ambassadors and their families may be asked to man KAT booths and help spread the word about our awesome program.
